Welcome to Mayer Bari. These terms apply to every booking you make with us, whether it is a homestay night, a day trip, a boat ride, or a full event. By confirming a booking or making a payment, you are agreeing to everything written here. Please read it once before you book so there are no surprises later.
In this document, "we", "us", and "Mayer Bari" mean Mayer Bari Homestay & Tourism. "You" and "Guest" mean the person making the booking and anyone travelling or staying under that booking.
Bookings & Reservations
A booking is only confirmed once we receive your advance payment and send you a confirmation by message, email, or call. An enquiry, a phone conversation, or a held date is not a confirmed booking on its own.
When you book, please make sure the details you give us are correct. This includes guest names, number ofpeople, dates, the rooms or package you want, and a working phone number. We plan our arrangements around what you tell us, so wrong information can affect your stay or trip.
You must be at least 18 years old to make a booking. The person who books is responsible for the whole group and for sharing these terms with everyone travelling with them.
We may ask for a valid government photo ID at check-in for every adult guest, as required under local rules.
Payments
We usually ask for an advance to confirm your booking, with the balance payable before or at check-in. The exact advance depends on the service:
We accept payment through the methods listed on our website and at our property. Prices are quoted in Indian Rupees and include applicable taxes unless we mention otherwise. Any extra
services you add during your stay, like additional meals, extra trips, or special arrangements, are billed separately and paid before check-out.
We may revise our rates from time to time, but a confirmed booking is honoured at the price you were quoted when you booked.
Check-in & Check-out
Early check-in and late check-out depend on availability and may carry an extra charge. Please ask us in advance rather than assuming it is free.
Ifyou arrive late or have to leave early, the full booking amount still applies. We cannot offer a discount or refund for nights or trip days you do not use once the booking has started.
Cancellation Policy
Plans change, and we try to be fair about it. How much we can refund depends on how much notice you give us, because we commit boats, guides, permits, staff, and food well before you arrive.

Tour & day-trip packages (Bakkhali, Henry Island, Jammudeep, Lathiandeep, Bhagbatpur Crocodile Project, Noukabilas, Sundarban trips, and similar)

To cancel, you must tell us in writing by email or message and get a confirmation back from us. The cancellation is counted from the time we receive your message, not from when you decided to cancel.
Peak season: During peak periods such as Durga Puja, the winter season (October to February), year-end holidays, and long weekends, we may ask for full advance payment and apply stricter cancellation terms. Ifyour booking falls in one ofthese periods, we will tell you the exact terms at the time ofbooking, and those terms will apply instead ofthe table above.
Date Changes & Rescheduling
Ifyou want to move your dates instead ofcancelling, we will do our best to help. One reschedule is free ifyou ask 7 days or more before your check-in or trip date, subject to availability and any rate difference for the new dates. Requests with less notice are treated as a cancellation under Section 4, and a fresh booking will be needed for the new date.
Weather, Tides & Things Outside Our Control
A lot ofwhat makes Mayer Bari special, the boat rides, the island trips, the river cruises, depends on tide timings, weather, and permissions from the forest and local authorities.Sometimes these are simply not in anyone's hands.
Ifwe have to cancel or change a boat ride, island trip, or any tour component because ofbad weather, unsafe tides, or an order from the authorities, we will first try to reschedule it during your stay. Ifthat is not possible, we will refund the cost ofthat specific component. The rest of your booking, like your stay and meals, is not refundable in this case since those services are still being provided.
Ifyou choose to cancel your own booking because you are worried about the weather while we are still operating normally, the standard cancellation terms in Section 4 apply.
We are not responsible for delays, cancellations, or extra costs caused by events beyond our control. This includes natural calamities, floods, storms, government restrictions, strikes, road or ferry disruptions, power failures, or any similar situation.
Refunds
Once a refund is approved under these terms, we will process it within 7 to 10 working days. The money goes back to the same method you used to pay. Depending on your bank or payment provider, it may take a few more days to reflect in your account.
Processing fees, payment gateway charges, and any third-party booking charges are non-refundable. Refunds are calculated on the amount you actually paid, not on the total booking value.
Guest Conduct & House Rules
Mayer Bari sits in a quiet, natural setting close to the Sundarbans, and we like to keep it that way for every guest. We ask you to:
We run a family-friendly, peaceful space. We may ask any guest whose behaviour is unsafe, illegal, or disrespectful to other guests or staffto leave, without a refund.
Smoking, alcohol, and pets are allowed only where we specifically permit it. Please check with us before you book ifany ofthese matter to you.
Children & Extra Guests
Children are welcome. Charges for children, extra beds, and additional guests beyond the booked capacity will be told to you at the time ofbooking. Please do not bring more people than the number on your confirmed booking without checking with us first, as our rooms and trips have fixed capacities.
Liability
We take real care to make your stay safe and comfortable, but you take part in our stays, trips, boat rides, and activities at your own risk. We are not liable for personal injury, illness, accident, or loss or damage to your belongings, except where it is directly caused by our proven negligence.
We strongly recommend that you look after your own valuables, money, and travel documents during your stay and trips. We advise guests to arrange their own travel and health insurance, especially for water-based and outdoor activities.
Photography
We sometimes take photos and videos at the property and on tours for our website and social media. Ifyou would prefer not to appear in any ofour promotional content, just let us know during your stay and we will respect that.
Privacy
We collect only the information we need to manage your booking and give you a good experience, such as your name, contact details, and ID where required. We do not sell your information. We use it to handle your booking, keep in touch with you about your stay, and meet legal requirements.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your booking is the one published on our website when you confirm that booking. We will not change the terms ofa booking after it is confirmed without telling you.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute relating to a booking will be subject to the jurisdiction ofthe courts in South 24 Parganas, West Bengal.
